Caitlin Wright

Elementary Educator

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my professional materials. Here you'll find my educational philosophy, details about my professional experience, and a portfolio of student work and lesson plans.

I have been teaching 4th and 5th grade in Bloomington, Indiana since 2015 where I use 1:1 iPads to enrich lessons, employ the workshop model to teach Reading and Writing, and support students' individual needs through RTI, small groups, and differentiation. I lead my school's student engagement group to promote our PBIS system and I serve on the Equity and Inclusion team. I am passionate about diverse literature and helping students develop strong number sense. I have extensive experience helping students who have IEPs and unique learning needs through co-teaching, inclusion, as a special education assistant, and as a long-term substitute teacher. I earned my M.S. Ed. in Elementary Education from Indiana University in 2014. Before that, I was a special-education para-educator for 1st through 3rd grade classrooms.

When I am not in the classroom, I loves spending time with my husband and children, baking, and traveling.
